5 Great Cleaning Tips

Unless you’re naturally a very tidy person, it can be tough to stay on top of all the little cleaning tasks around your home. Clutter can take over and getting things back to their original state can become a very overwhelming job. But with just a few minutes every day and a little help from your friends you can keep dirt and dust away easily and keep your home a more enjoyable environment.

1) Make A Checklist

It always helps to plan. Make a list of all of the things you want to get done. Try splitting the tasks up by room and then you can check off each one as they are completed. This will give you something to work towards and make you feel great every time a new task is checked off. As dull as it sounds, try creating a cleaning calendar with your checklist to really get productive.

2) From The Top Down

Don’t make your job harder! Start your cleaning at the top of the room and work your way down. Dust will settle downwards, so begin your cleaning by dusting the ceiling and lighting fixtures before moving down through the room. The floor and carpet is always the last area that should be focused on.

3) One Room At A Time

Save time by doing one room at a time. You will be able to separate your projects into smaller aspects and also see your results much quicker. If you are working with kids, then assign each one to their bedroom for starters. And the garage is a perfect place for Dad!

4) Recycle

It’s always right to recycle when possible. Make sure to get rid of any unwanted clothing, household appliances, electronics, and toys by donating to a local charity. It can be your good deed for the season and it’s a great way to free up some living space in your home.

5) Divide And Conquer

Torture your kids and partner by making them participate in a cleaning day. Soften the blow by giving prizes for the hardest worker or the best cleaner. Some chores like dusting and toy clean up are perfect for your little ones and harder tasks such as vacuuming behind the sofa are much easier with a friend.
